Position Description:   
This position will manage
the Compensation Team supporting Tartan and the Global Corporate
Functions.  This role will manage strategic compensation systems and
program needs.  This role will also be responsible for ensuring
compensation program design, development, and implementation is cost
effective and consistent with Cargill business goals and compensation
philosophy.
 
Principal Accountabilities:


  • Develop
    and lead a highly effective Compensation Team. Coach and mentor
    employees and provide opportunities for development.  Ensure the
    businesses plans are being executed on and process efficiencies are
    being utilized across Tartan, IT, HR and Finance.

  • Work with HR Leaders and Tartan Leadership Team to design and
    develop compensation strategy, variable pay programs, reward and
    recognition program structures, geographic differentials, compensation
    program effectiveness, etc.

  • Provide compensation consultation to Tartan management on a
    day-to-day basis related to compensation strategy; manage compensation
    education and training; industry best practices; Cargill corporate
    policies and procedures.

  • Work with Tartan and IT HR management to identify areas where
    compensation processes or information should be changed.  Complete due
    diligence to determine if the improvements or changes should be made
    and implementing the improvements or changes.

  • Participate in and/or lead various global compensation projects or initiatives.






Job Requirements:

Required:


  • Bachelors degree

  • Minimum of 8 years compensation experience

  • Work experience in global compensation management

  • Demonstrated experience in compensation program cost analysis and
    forecasting, market pricing techniques, design of basic compensation
    programs including salary structure development

  • Thorough knowledge of compensation concepts such as equity theory,
    competency based pay and applying these concepts to compensation policy
    development

  • Proven financial analysis skills sufficient to ensure that
    compensation plan modeling of overall cost and development of costs are
    accurate

  • Experience building relationships and creating customer solutions

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills

  • Excellent customer service, negotiation, and problem solving
    skills; ability to interact with individuals at all levels of the
    organization

  • Demonstrated project management skills

  • Strong Microsoft Office skills required, proficiency in Excel

  • Ability to be flexible in a changing environment and interface effectively within a cross-functional and team environment
